Get to know the man behind the lens of our latest photo shoot collaboration with Bella & Chloe Shop, Quenton Noy.
Where are you from and what do you do?
I am from St. Augustine, Florida, but live in Merritt Island, and I am a fashion and music photographer and graphic designer.
What three words best describe you?
Passionate, creative & unique
When did you get into photography and what inspired you to start taking photos?
About six years ago my grandmother passed away. She was a great photographer, and a little bit before she passed she had started teaching me some of the things that she knew. I loved every second of it, and I loved the feeling of getting the perfect shot! So I continued pursuing photography because I loved it so much and also as a way to keep her legacy alive.
How would you describe your photography style?
I don’t think that I have a specific style of photography; I feel more that I lean on the side of creative and unique, so whatever form those might be in, whether that be in fashion or music, I love to capture whatever is appealing to the eye.
Do you remember the very first photo you ever took? How do you think your style has changed since then?
I remember the very first photo I have ever taken was actually a picture of bamboo. I stood in the middle of bamboo trees and aimed the camera upward, and I thought it looked cool. But back then I didn’t do any editing except for whatever filters I had on Instagram, so I think my editing style has changed a great deal since then. Now I focus on cool and unique color combinations and crazy lighting.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
I draw inspiration from two places, one being road trips. I think that road trips are fun because you never know what kind of shot you will get, and it's super spontaneous and I love spontaneous things! And you also have the ability to get a million different backgrounds, cause no one place is exactly the same. And the second place I get inspiration from is actually Instagram and Pinterest. I will find two or three different photos and think of how I can rework a shot or editing style to make it crazy different, and in the process I get ideas for different shoots I could do.
Tell us about your favorite photo shoot you've done so far and what makes it your favorite.
My favorite shoot is one I did with my good friend Devin, and we just decided to wake up early one Saturday morning and shoot a friend of ours who is a model as well. It was our favorite because we didn’t have any guidelines or restrictions, so we made it a super edgy and unique shoot with crazy makeup and crazy lighting, and we shot for about 6-7 hours and lost track of time.
What's the craziest thing you've done for the sake of getting an amazing shot?
I have stood on top of someone on their hands and knees while on the beach shooting for family Christmas photos.
Who are some of your favorite photographers?
Bliss Katherine, Sasha Samsonova, Chuck Lang, & Derrick Freske
What's one thing people don't know about you?
I am only 19
What were you doing right before you sat down to answer these questions?
I was bathing my two dogs!
